It’s normal to feel sad or moody every once in a while – especially during puberty. Anyone can have a bad day. But if you have had weeks or even months of days when you feel down or low, you may be dealing with depression.

Depression is a common but serious health problem for many teens. In fact, one in 10 American young people have experienced a period of major depression. While it may be common, depression isn’t something you have to accept as a normal part of your life. Depression is a real, treatable health problem.
